QUESTIONS IN WRITING - Roe Highway
Dr Jensen» (Tangney) asked the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport,
Regional Development and Local Government, in writing, on 4 December
2008:
In respect of the construction of Roe Highway Stage 8, west
of Kwinana Freeway: (a) does the Government strongly support this
project; (b) what level of funding will the Government provide for this
vital transport link; and (c) are there any other actions, proposals or
decisions of the Government relating to this project, especially any
environmental restrictions on the use of land reserved for the project.
Mr Albanese (Grayndler) (Minister for Infrastructure,
Transport, Regional Development and Local Government) —The answer to
the honourable member’s question is as follows:
(a) (b) (c) The
Government has made no funding commitment to the extension of the Roe
Highway beyond the Kwinana Freeway. The Government is aware that there
is a range of community, environmental and economic issues that would
need to be addressed by the Western Australia Government in the
planning and development of such a project.
